Normally, I would write a excellent and smart intro to each of my “Starts & Sits” column, but sadly, I have been on a small time crunch and am unable to do so. With that, I hope you all have had an excellent Thanksgiving holiday. Hopefully, all of the Julio Jones owners gave thanks for his performance last week as well. I certainly did not, for he was on the team in which I was playing against. Best of luck to all of you this week, and hopefully these picks will help you win your matchups.
Starts:
Cooper Kupp
Kupp has put together a solid rookie campaign thus far. This week we should be able to expect a solid outing for Kupp. He saw a season high total in yards, catches and targets last week. The absence of Robert Woods is partially responsible for this. Woods is out this week as well so expect a big outing for Kupp this week. He also has 20 catches over the past three weeks.
Kenyan Drake
Over the past four weeks, three of them have been good for Drake. He has done all of this while sharing the ball with Damien Williams. Williams dislocated his shoulder last week, so the touches now go to Drake. He has had eight or more points in three of the last four games, so expect double digit points with him being the primary ball-carrier.
Marvin Jones Jr.
Jones has been one of the top fantasy receivers this season, and few have realized it. Over the past six weeks, Jones has averaged 15.1 points per game. He has become the top target on the Lions’ pass first offense. He has also become the number 4 fantasy receiver this season, with eight TDs so far. Strangely enough, he’s only owned in 90% of leagues, so if you’re reading this, there is a 10% chance he is still available in your league.
Jamison Crowder
In Crowder’s last four games he has had over 70 yards in each one. Two of those games, he has had more than 120 yards. It may seem like he will have a strong finish to the season, as he did last season. The absence of Terelle Pryor has helped in his production.
Sits:
Derek Carr
Derek Carr has had a very disappointing season, fantasy-wise. Now with the Crabtree suspension, and the Cooper concussion, he will have next to no-one to throw the ball to. Expect a run heavy game.
Giants
Don’t start anyone on the giants. Two words: Geno Smith.
